Interviews

One of the joys of my blog has been running a series of interviews, entitled 'How Hot Do You Like Your Nandos?' where I ask an artist, producer or singer a few questions, both serious and not quite so serious about their music and life! I'm always on the look out for more interviews and this page features links to all of the various interviews that I've done so far, a collection that should hopefully keep on growing. Read on and enjoy, links to the full interviews are with the names!

Ayah Marar: http://clwb4cardiff.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/the-interview-ayah-marar.html
My first proper interview and the first major step up my blog took is thanks to this drum and bass diva, who played at Bedlam in the winter of 2012 and very kindly agreed to answer a few questions for the blog. It's a great read, both in her take on the music she writes and some funny moments, including anecdotes from her time spent living with Calvin Harris & Toddla T.

Lung: http://clwb4cardiff.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/how-hot-do-you-like-your-nandos-lung.html
Med School star and local lad Lung agreed to take the Nandos treatment on prior to performing at Hospitality Cardiff in February 2014 and we even had a couple of beers during the event after his set. This one features a lovely look at his debut album, a real gem called Wait Less Suspense which showed off his diverse music taste. Sadly however in the chicken department, he's a lemon & herb kind of guy!

Mona Lisa Veto: http://clwb4cardiff.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/nandosmonalisaveto.html
A few years ago, under her previous moniker of Zarif, she released a fantastic debut album after being dropped by her label, filled with swing and jazz influences. Now Mona Lisa Veto is releasing new music, with some huge things on the way and I couldn't resist the chance to get an interview with her, discussing her new music and what the future held for her!

HighForThis: http://clwb4cardiff.blogspot.co.uk/2014/03/nandoshighforthis.html
After seeing him mix some barnstorming sets, I interviewed Boulevard and Purrmotions resident DJ HighForThis. It's a fantastic interview, not in the least due to his great answers and some of the humorous responses. He's the first one to get the correct answer to the question, 'Steak or Bacon?' as well, which is an added bonus!

Draper: http://clwb4cardiff.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/Draperinterview.html
This interview was another fantastic one for me, getting to quiz one of my favourite dubstep and chillout DJ's, who'd recently released a collaborative effort with Bring Me The Horizon called The Chillout Sessions. This was the start of the (hopefully soon to be world famous) Nandos question and a real treat for me!

Jade Blue: http://clwb4cardiff.blogspot.co.uk/2014/03/nandosjadeblue.html
Before her debut set at Treatment, electronic wizard and rising star Jade Blue agreed to take the Nandos treatment, chatting to us about her love for music in all its forms, regardless of genre. She also expressed a love for Hendricks Gin, steak and what to expect from her DJ sets. Was great fun talking to her, check the interview out in the link above!

Great Skies: http://clwb4cardiff.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/GreatSkies.html
Hailing from my hometown, London, I got the chance to chat with Great Skies, an underground DJ making real waves with his high quality ambient & deep house productions, which have featured on UKF and in the Ministry of Sound Chilled House Ibiza Compilation. He gave some great responses and had a fantastic Desert Island Discs selection of records too!

Switch Fusion: http://clwb4cardiff.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/nandosswitchfusion.html
I was actually approached by Welsh drum & bass DJ Switch Fusion about the possibility of an interview and happily said yes! He gave some fantastic, in depth answers into the musical process and highlighted a real love for the subtle detailing that makes electronic music so great! Was fantastic to get to hear from a fellow drum & bass fan, especially one with such passion for own craft.
